Refund Policy

At Singapore Economic Insights, we strive to provide high-quality economic analysis, research, and insights to our customers. We understand that there may be circumstances where you might need to request a refund for your purchase. This Refund Policy outlines the conditions and procedures for refund requests.

Please read this policy carefully before making a purchase. By subscribing to or purchasing any of our services, you agree to the terms of this Refund Policy.

1. Subscription Services

1.1 Refund Eligibility for New Subscribers

We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee for new subscribers to our premium subscription plans. If you are not satisfied with your subscription for any reason, you may request a full refund within 14 days of your initial purchase.

To be eligible for a refund under this guarantee:

  • Your request must be submitted within 14 days of the initial subscription purchase
  • This must be your first subscription to the service (the money-back guarantee does not apply to renewal payments or to customers who have previously subscribed and canceled)
  • Your account must not have violated our Terms and Conditions

1.2 Cancellation of Recurring Subscriptions

You may cancel your subscription at any time by logging into your account or contacting our customer support team. When you cancel:

  • You will continue to have access to your subscription until the end of your current billing period
  • Your subscription will not automatically renew after the current billing period ends
  • We do not provide partial refunds for the unused portion of your current subscription period

1.3 Prorated Refunds for Annual Subscriptions

For annual subscription plans, if you cancel after the 14-day money-back guarantee period but before the end of your annual subscription term, you may be eligible for a prorated refund under the following conditions:

  • You have experienced a major life event that prevents you from using our services (such as serious illness or significant financial hardship)
  • There has been a material change to our services that significantly reduces their value
  • You can provide documentation to support your refund request

Prorated refunds are calculated based on the remaining full months of your subscription and may be subject to an administrative fee of up to 10% of the original subscription price.

2. One-Time Purchases

2.1 Research Reports and Special Publications

For one-time purchases of research reports, special publications, or other digital products:

  • Due to the digital nature of these products, all sales are generally final once the content has been accessed or downloaded
  • If you have not accessed or downloaded the content, you may request a refund within 7 days of purchase
  • If a product contains significant errors or is materially different from its description, you may be eligible for a refund regardless of whether you have accessed the content

2.2 Events and Webinars

For tickets to events, webinars, or other time-specific services:

  • Cancellations made 14 or more days before the event date are eligible for a full refund
  • Cancellations made 7-13 days before the event date are eligible for a 50% refund
  • Cancellations made less than 7 days before the event date are not eligible for a refund
  • If we cancel or significantly reschedule an event, you will be offered either a full refund or the option to attend the rescheduled event

2.3 Consulting Services

For custom consulting services or advisory work:

  • Refund policies for consulting services are specified in individual client contracts
  • Generally, deposits for consulting services are non-refundable once work has commenced
  • If services cannot be delivered as agreed, we will first attempt to resolve the issue or provide alternative deliverables before considering refunds

3. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, please follow these steps:

  2. Provide Required Information: Include the following information in your request:
    • Your full name and email address associated with your account
    • The date of purchase
    • Order or transaction number (if available)
    • The product or service for which you're requesting a refund
    • The reason for your refund request
    • Any relevant supporting documentation (if applicable)
  3. Refund Form: In some cases, we may ask you to complete a refund request form to provide additional details about your request.

4. Refund Processing

4.1 Review Timeline

We will review your refund request and respond within 5 business days. If additional information is needed, we will contact you using the email address associated with your account.

4.2 Refund Method

Approved refunds will be processed using the original payment method whenever possible:

  • Credit/debit card payments will be refunded to the same card
  • PayPal payments will be refunded to the same PayPal account
  • Bank transfers may require additional information to process the refund

4.3 Processing Time

Once approved, refunds are typically processed within 7-10 business days. However, the time it takes for the refund to appear in your account depends on your payment provider and may take up to 30 days in some cases.

5. Exceptions and Special Circumstances

5.1 Technical Issues

If you experience technical issues that prevent you from accessing or using our services, please contact our technical support team before requesting a refund. In many cases, we can resolve technical issues promptly or provide alternative access methods.

5.2 Promotional or Discounted Purchases

Products or services purchased with special promotional discounts or as part of a bundle may have different refund conditions, which will be specified at the time of purchase.

5.3 Fraudulent Activity

We reserve the right to refuse refund requests if we suspect fraudulent activity, abuse of our refund policy, or violation of our Terms and Conditions.

5.4 Hardship Exceptions

In cases of extreme hardship or extraordinary circumstances, we may consider exceptions to this policy on a case-by-case basis. Please provide detailed information and any relevant documentation when submitting such requests.

6. Cancellation vs. Refund

It's important to understand the difference between canceling a subscription and requesting a refund:

  • Cancellation: Stops future automatic payments and ends your subscription at the end of the current billing period. You will continue to have access to your subscription until the end of the paid period.
  • Refund: Returns payment for a purchase already made, subject to the conditions outlined in this policy.

You can cancel a subscription without requesting a refund, but refund eligibility is subject to the terms described in this policy.
